Age Related Macular
Degeneration
ARMD is the gradual degeneration of the centre of the retina, which may result in no vision in the centre of the visual field in one or both eyes. Whilst it does not lead to complete blindness, the condition is often severely debilitating with difficulties performing everyday tasks, including recognising faces, driving and reading. The condition typically occurs in older people with a predilection for females and is determined through a thorough ophthalmic examination.
